WISE Software Announces Release of V15.2 VisualCAM and GerbTool

Newberg, OR, August 1, 2008: WISE Software, a leading provider of PC-based CAM software, today announced the release of VisualCAM 2006 (15.2) and GerbTool™ 15.2, both of which offer substantial increases in functionality and usability. In addition, the 15.2 release offers improved quality and reliability through correction of reported defects, and more.

Release Highlights

ODB++ Interface Update - This release adds support for version 8.0 ODB++ format specifications. Also new is complete support for importing and exporting fully populated ODB++ panels. Importing a panel step of an ODB++ file now creates a fully populated Advanced Panel design containing the entire image and tooling data available in the ODB++ database. Furthermore, panels created with Advanced Panel can now be exported to ODB++ without flattening the data first, keeping the editable nature of the advanced panel intact within the ODB++ architecture.

Flip Panel - New in this release is full support for flipping and/or mirroring of images and/or sub-panels within a panel.

IPC-D-356B Support - Integrated support for IPC-D-356B Netlist import and export has been added. The most notable new feature in IPC-D-356B is support for true polygons, enabling more accurate and concise descriptions of the copper areas and in many cases reducing the file size and processing time.

Improved User Experience - Nearly 200 enhancements and defect fixes have been made significantly improving the overall functionality and user experience. These changes were developed in conjunction with feedback from key accounts and individual contributors in an effort to provide users with a more solid and reliable PCB tooling and analysis solution.

Composite Viewing Enhancements – Building on a method of storing and displaying composite data on a single layer pioneered in version 12.0, we have now further enhanced this viewing capability giving our users the requested ability to “see through” composite layers.

Flying Probe Test Point Generation - Another notable evolution in our flying probe test points generation has been achieved with this release. This is our most concise and robust Test Point solution to date including the following highlights:

• Adjustment of the test point location when partial mask covering is present.

• Single or double-sided testing with endpoints only test point generation.

• Control how through hole connections are treated during test point generation.

• Missing test points detection when insufficient test points are found to test a net.

• Choose to export full IPC D-356/A/B (with 099 records for test points) or scaled back

version with test point features only.

Product Availability: Release 15.2 is available for download immediately and will be provided to all users on current maintenance contracts.
